Grassroots Arts Grants
The Grassroots Arts program is made possible by the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, who believe that a great nation deserves great art.
History
The state Department of Cultural Resources (DCR) established the NC Arts Council Grassroots Arts program through the NC General Assembly in 1977. The purpose is to provide an equitable and reliable source of state funding for community-based organizations and programs in all 100 counties and to allow citizens/arts council leaders at the local level to decide on the best use for this funding.

Designated County Partners apply on three year cylces for funds to disburse as sub grants to other county non-profit arts programs.
