ChathamArts gallery features the works of three local established artists August 30-September 23. El Tremblay, a well known local painter utilizes watercolor with pen, ink and pencil to create realistic paintings. His favorite subjects are landscapes, flowers, houses, pets, and horses. Emma Skurnick, a freelance nature illustrator who's work can be seen at the North Carolina Aquarium, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and in American Scientist Magazine will share her paintings of native North Carolina flora and fauna using watercolor. Sculptor Kevin Eichner specializes in forging, casting and fabricating, using bronze steel, cast iron for sculpture and architectural elements. His work focuses on the underlying nature of the materials, combining the industrial elements of steel and cast iron with the traditional aesthetic of bronze to create work that celebrates the beauty of people and their relationship with nature. You can meet the artists and see their work at the opening show
at ChathamArts on September 3, from 12 noon to 5, when Pittsboro
shops, galleries and eateries will be open for First Sunday with
arts and crafts for sale along the main street. ChathamArts Gallery
is also open every week from Wednesday-Saturday 11-5 at 121 Hillsboro
St., Pittsboro, 919-542-0394, info@chathamarts.org
