I have always been interested in fiber. When I was a child; my mother taught me how to knit, chrochet and embroider. Iearned to sew, and made most of my children's clothing, as well as sweaters for the dog. With retirement, I found more time to pursue my love affair with fiber. I made my first basket twelve years ago. In order to acheive commercial success, most basket makers must concentrate in a single field in order to achieve technical mastery and a unique style. I have resisted that tendenacy. Instead, I have enjoyed exploring the different materials and techniques, and the play between utility and decoration. As I have become more familiar with the various materials and methods, the number of possibilities to be explored has increased exponentially.
