Mary Heisserman, Painter
Fearrington Village, Chatham County has been my home since February, 1985.
I have always thought of watercolors as one of the most beautiful mediums in which to work. It was my intention to pursue watercolors at some time in my life. The opportunity presented itself in the early 1990s. My first venture into the medium was with Kip Gerard at the Carboro Art Center. Later I took classes with Phyllis Burns (Chatham County) and Kathy Curry (Fearrington and Chapel Hill. I've also done workshops with Sally Sutton and Susan Rosenfield.
I am a member of the Fearrington Paletteers. Our group works in a variety of mediums - acrylics, collage, oils, pastels, pen and ink , watercolors.
My work in watercolors is for my own pleasure, and, I hope, for the pleasure of others. I particulary enjoy painting flowers and still lifes.
Time does not exist when I am painting. I seem to loose myself in what I am doing. It is one of the most satisfying aspects of my life.
