Marrianna Oslin - Putnam, Painter
Having begun painting relatively late in life, I was very pleasantly surprised to discover how much I love it, My art has been selling increasingly well, and I have expanded into other areas, such as marketing cards and giclee prints of my paintings. I began taking painting classes taught by Jane Filer at the Carrboro Art Center in 2003 while recovering from knee replacement surgery. I joined “The Palletteers” painting group upon moving to Fearrington Village in 2004.
In addition to working on a series of paintings for a 2010 calendar, I am also working on a children’s book, both art and story – based on the adventures of my “grand-dog” Copernicus. Through the use of color and subject matter, I try to appeal to art lovers of all ages, and to portray my joy in life through my paintings.
